A Ride to the Happiest Burger on Earth
I was recently invited on a motorcycle ride by a friend whom I had known online for a while and had only met recently. My friend Paul had invited me to ride with his Facebook Group “Ride Turlock “for a basic ride from Turlock out to Mariposa to have lunch at Happy Burger. This ride was taking place on New Year’s Day and I gladly accepted his offer a he indicated that he would be there also with the group. (I had never met anyone from the group). A plan was hatched and the day drew near.

Tonight we had the honor of attending the International Motorcycle Shows – San Mateo after being given free tickets by Carla King. We had a chance to look at all of the different manufactures and vendors in each area of the show. We were very excited to see the unveiling of the new Triumph Explorer. In fact we were some of the first few hundred people in the USA to see it so far in person. So we decided to shoot a promo video with Gail Weaver who was working at the Triumph booth. On this Gold Rush day ride we wont be chugging along. If you are local you may have heard the phrase “Little Dragon” used by riders to refer to a section of road near Yosemite that defies logic. For many people this road resembles several MotoGP tracks combined. Many people dream of riding a road section this twisty and travel from miles away to experience such a road. However most don’t know that beyond the Little Dragon lies a vast road structure of endless twisties ready to be ridden. And history comes alive in this area. Continue reading
We have been developing this ride in conjunction with our NorCal Backroads Tour. The differences between the two are that in this tour we deeply explore the Trinity Alps and leave most of the goat roads behind in favor of miles and miles of twists and turns, and curvalicious sweeper turns. Although it is similar to our other tour, this tour takes us through the Trinity Alps, sections of Lost Coast, and other sights and sounds along the way. Stunning views all around as you ride through Northern California, exploring inland pastoral Marin county, and on into Humboldt County by way of Highway 1. And did we mention that we will be seeing lots of twisties? Come out and enjoy this ride. Your adventure begins here!
